FOR WHOM WILL BIG BEN TOLL?

In case you can't read his T-shirt, it reads: "Drink Like A Champion Today."

NFL Commish Roger Goodell suspended Big Ben Roethlisberger for 6 games today.  Yesterday, the Steelers traded for Byron Leftwich, a proven NFL winner and natural leader who starred at nearby Marshall.  Today, rumors of the Steelers looking to move Big Ben and draft a top QB.  I’m not a scientist, but this leads me to a few conclusions.  First, apparently NFL players can still be discriminated against for their sexual preferences.  In this case, non-consensual.  Allegedly.  Second, I think there’s a pretty good chance that Mr. Rooney may go Marcellus Wallace and revoke all of Roethlisberger’s Pittsburgh privileges.  On the one hand, he’s still really young and has already led the Steelers to two Sticky Lombardis.  But the Steelers are one of the most professional organizations in sports, and the Rooneys have to be upset that, on-the-field production notwithstanding, the face of their team is too regularly making the wrong kind of news.  Somewhere, Raider fan hearts are skipping beats.  The Steelers can win with Leftwich.  Dennis Dixon looked to me like a guy with a bright future last year in limited action.  And what happens if Jimmy Clausen happens to be there at 18?  I think they think about it long and hard.  Let’s not forget- the Steelers have won with a rookie quarterback before.  Oh, wait…
